  Step 1: Start from the bench outside the Spar, The Cross. Take a look at the sign about Stonehouse history.

• 

  Step 2: From the Spar cross the road at the zebra crossing and head into Trongate

• 

  Step 3: You'll soon pass the church with it's impressive rose window. Take a moment to consider the skill involved building a place like this.

• 

  Step 4: Keep following the road, go under the bypass and head out of the village. You'll pass the Alexander Hamilton Park on your left.

• 

  Step 5: On your right you'll see the remains of the old railway bridge in the distance. Another feat of engineering, sadly dismantled by Beeching.

• 

  Step 6: Follow the road and cross the Avon Water. On the bridge take a moment to watch or listen to the water flowing. Be aware of traffic though.
