  Step 1: A lovely walk via Pinhoe Church returning down the Pin Brook Valley. The E2 bus stops at the bottom of Chenygate Lane where one can park.

  Step 2: Walk towards the Seventeenth Century merchant’s house built at the same time as the Customs House on the Quays - www.exetermemories.co.uk.

• 

  Step 3: Go through the gate opposite.

• 

  Step 4: Follow the track sheltered by many fine trees.

• 

  Step 5: Continue.

• 

  Step 6: At the top emerge into an open field at the bottom of Beacon Hill.
