  Step 1: An all seasons urban walk.From the bus stops on Calthorpe Road for the F1, F2 & B1 go down St Katherine’s Road towards the Priory.

  Step 2: Go past the Priory and under the bridge. The Priory (stkatherinespriory.co.uk) was a Benedictine Nunnery founded in 1159. It is now the

• Step 3: home of the Stoke Hill Community Association. The Grade II listed building may date from the 13th Century. It is open on Friday mornings for refreshments and lunch. There is ample seating in the lovely gardens in summer.

  Step 4: Continue ahead.

  Step 5: Cross Beacon Avenue.

  Step 6: Continue to Pinhoe Road and turn left.
