Step 1: Don't miss the sharp turn off Shooters Hill, there's parking, it was busy at 11am but empty by the time we left around 2pm.
Step 2: You are now 132m above sea level! There's three directions to head in, we picked towards Severndroog Castle which is about 200 yards away.
Step 3: We looked out for barn owls and woodpeckers the whole way.
Step 4: Keep walking past this beautiful clearing. Some parts of Oxleas woodlands are over 8,000 years old.
Step 5: Severndroog Castle is a gothic castle built in 1784. It's a memorial and takes its name from a battle in Suvarnadurg, in India in 1755.
Step 6: The Castle's viewing platform is open from Thurs-Sun 12:30-16:30 for a small fee, from £2.00 pp. You can admire the outside or experience the incredible 360° view.
