Step 2: The walk has one step, one narrow gate and some slightly uneven paths. A step free alternative is described. Several paths may be muddy in wet weather. Remember to follow local signage regarding potential flooded riverside paths.
Step 3: With your back to the station. Walk towards the green space opposite called Dial Arch Square. Enter the space and bear right, diagonally.
Step 4: Walk past Dial Arch Square pub on the corner which is also an option for refreshments either now or at the end. This area is traffic-free.
Step 5: You’ll see decommissioned weaponry relics throughout this walk.
Step 6: The area was used for the manufacture of armaments and ammunition, proofing, and explosives research for the British armed forces hence its name. During World War I, the arsenal covered 1,285 acres of land.
