Step 1: This walk starts off Norfolk Street at Westgate. There are a variety of bus stops here and a big underground car park. This walk starts off Leiden Square near Abbey Place & Norfolk Street.
Step 2: David Batchelor's sculpture called “Homage to Doctor Mirabilis” aka Roger Bacon can be seen here in the Westgate Centre entrance.
Step 3: We’ll learn more about Roger Bacon in a minute but for now just know that he was known as the “Wonderful Doctor” who employed empirical methods to extend the realm of science. Continue up Norfolk Street…
