• Step 1: Your walk begins here at Merrymeade Country Park.

• Step 2: Merrymead is a 34 hectare site, made up of a range of habitats from grasslands, a small wood, scrub & wetland habitats such as ponds & a stream.

• 

  Step 3: There are grasslands on your right. They’re into cut twice a year with the aim to improve diversity of grasses & flowers found on this site.

• 

  Step 4: Continue following the path.

• 

  Step 5: The pond on your right is of great importance as it’s home to a population of great crested newts.

• 

  Step 6: Keep a look out for the Essex Skipper & Meadow Brown butterflies that can be found on the site. 🦋
