Step 1: This walk begins at Longniddry Station which provides a 20-minute link to Edinburgh, as well connections east to North Berwick and beyond.
Step 2: It is also the start point of a leafy countryside walk to the market town of Haddington, following the old branch line, which was discontinued during the Beaching rail cuts of the 1960s.
Step 3: That walk is for another day. This time you are off down the ramp, and across the road.
Step 4: Turn left in front of the Filling Station. A popular spot for an expertly-filled sandwich.
Step 5: On past the village shop, and you will see a growing garden, which if you are lucky may be selling some fresh produce.
Step 6: The area has a long history of market gardens which continue to this day.
