• Step 1: A green belt walk across fields, through woodland passing ponds and lakes. Easy walking but paths can be muddy after wet weather. Pity about the M1 and A41. Waymarking is generally good and reassuring.

• 

  Step 2: Start by coming out of Hatch End Station. Walk ahead on the station approach road to turn right along the main Uxbridge Road.

• 

  Step 3: Take the second right off the main road into Grimsdyke Road.

• 

  Step 4: Follow Grimsdyke Road as it first curves left and then bends right passing a no-through-road sign under power lines.

• 

  Step 5: Then as the road bends left, turn right down a footpath past a stile into a field. Turn right along the field edge on the main Loop route.

• 

  Step 6: Walk to the stile ahead. Walk beside it and then go left along an earth path between bushes.
