Step 1: Start at Kingsmead, built in 1936-8 on land that was once marsh and then a projectile factory.
Step 2: Take a right on Homerton Road.
Step 3: There's a nice route through Mabley Green...
Step 4: And along Red Path, which also leads over the A12 to Hackney Wick to the south-east.
Step 5: But there are no pedestrian crossings on Kenworthy Road to carry on the journey safely to Homerton. So carry on Homerton Road ...
Step 6: ... and left onto Kenworthy Road. But cross over to the other side of Kenworthy, otherwise you're stuck. (Consider asking your councillor to ask TfL for new crossings on this A road!)
