• 

  Step 1: Start at Carluke train station carpark . Head out onto Station road and turn left walking away from the station

• 

  Step 2: The pavement runs out, so you will need to walk on the road for a short section. Head uphill over the bridge. Be vigilant for traffic.

• 

  Step 3: On the right, opposite houses take the path signposted Mauldslie Road. Wear your wellies or stout boots. Very muddy section

• 

  Step 4: Don't cross over the old stone bridge! The gate marks the entrance to Jock's Burn. Take this path which follows the burn.

• 

  Step 5: This whole stretch of path is VERY muddy but the reward is lovely views and peace and quiet. You might see a dipper bobbing in the burn.

• 

  Step 6: Cross over the burn via a small bridge. From here you can either continue ahead through the golf course or stay within Jock's Burn reserve.
