  Step 1: Welcome to Ide! This walk starts here, at the community shop (EX2 9RW). Feel free to pop in for some pre-walk fuel.

• 

  Step 2: At the community shop, there’s loads of information about walks and events in the village.

• 

  Step 3: When you’re ready, head down Fore Street.

• Step 4: In the past, Fore Street included a blacksmith, butcher, slaughter house, an inn, a bakery and general store, a dairy farm and pig unit. Many houses show signs of having been shops and businesses in the past.

• 

  Step 5: Soon you’ll arrive at the Huntsman Inn. This ford on College Lane is said to be the longest in England!

  Step 6: Turn left to continue up the high street.
