Burnt Oak to Wembley

Walk preview

1. Step 1: Uncover a whole world of urban nature on four new walking routes in London brought to you in partnership with Footways and supported by the Mayor of London and Transport for London.

2. 

   Step 2: This walk starts at Burnt Oak tube station. Exit out of the station onto Waitling Avenue. Turn left on Barnfield Road.

3. Step 3: Continue past Market Lane to make your way into our first greenspace, Silk Stream park which is slight right.

4. 

   Step 4: Silkstream Park sits within the Watling Estate, built by London County Council in the 1920s to provide "homes fit for heroes".

5. 

   Step 5: Find the old oak and hawthorn trees from the time when this area was fields and hedgerows. Continue wandering through the park.

6. Step 6: Cross over Montrose Avenue and continue into the next section of the park.
