Step 1: We start at Lansdowne Way bus stop. This is just a few minutes from Stockwell tube station, and is readily accessible by car.
Step 2: Walk northeast down Clapham Road (away from the station) until you reach a crossing. Ignore it and instead turn right down Stockwell Park Road.
Step 3: As we continue southeast down Stockwell Park Road, we pass a site where Lillian Baylis lived.
Step 4: For those interested, Baylis was a manager for prominent dance and theatre organisations, including Sadler's Wells theatres and the progenitor to the English National Opera. A nearby school is named in her honour.
Step 5: Cross to stay on Stockwell Park Road, from where St Michael's Church will be visible. Continue south towards the church.
Step 6: Turn left into Slade Gardens Park. The adventure playground has been visible on our left, but there is also a children's playground.
