• 

  Step 1: Start from the Linlithgow Xcite Leisure Centre, which you can easily reach by bus or bike (turn into Ketill'stoun Mains at the roundabout).

• 

  Step 2: Turn right onto McGinley Way.

• 

  Step 3: When you’ve reached the leisure centre, cross the road to the footpath on the opposite side.

• 

  Step 4: Head onto the tarmac path and follow it right, past the car park.

• 

  Step 5: Pass the West Lothian Cycle Circuit sign and go up the ramp towards the canal.

• 

  Step 6: Turn right onto the Union Canal towpath.
