Step 1: Welcome to Linlithgow! The hunt for the town’s Marches, or historic boundary stones, starts at the West Port Hotel, on the High Street.
Step 2: A tradition dating back to the 16th century is the annual ‘Riding of the Marches,’ which takes place on the first Tuesday after the second Thursday in June.
Step 3: Today, we’ll walk the line of the recorded boundary, dating from the Representation of the People (Scotland) Act of 1832.
