• 

  Step 1: Start at the Vallis Vale car parking area just off Elm Lane to the west of Frome.

• 

  Step 2: Head down the footpath on the opposite side to the cars by the sign. The footpath here is tarmac.

• 

  Step 3: You’ll shortly reach the brook. It was very full and fast flowing when we visited so take care.

• 

  Step 4: Head over the metal stile and cross the cattle grid. This is the only way in so not suitable for wheels.

• 

  Step 5: Winter robins aplenty when we visited. What can you see?

• 

  Step 6: The path bends slightly to the left to continue alongside the brook.
