• 

  Step 1: Start at the canal basin off Strawberry Bank. The canal society was founded in 1975 to promote the canal and offer boat trips.

• Step 2: The train station is just a few minutes away. Facing the canal, turn left and walk along the towpath towards and under the bridge.

• 

  Step 3: Pass Dudley the cat - a bronze sculpture erected in memory of Liz Burrows, Dudley’s owner, who supported Burgh Beautiful.

• 

  Step 4: The canal path is part of the National Cycle Network. The Linlithgow Community Development Trust’s heritage trail involves segments from it.

• 

  Step 5: Pass under the next bridge and continue walking on the canal path.

• 

  Step 6: You may spot kayaks, paddles and narrow boats during the summer months on the canal.
