  Step 1: We parked at the Water of Leith Visitor Centre. Walk up the hill on Craiglochart ave, where you could visit Craiglochart Castle...

  Step 2: Turn right into Colinton Road towards Colinton

• 

  Step 3: You’ll walk past some interesting old Army Barracks including Redford Barracks, end then Edinburgh Napier University

• 

  Step 4: Pass Merchiston Castle school in your right

• 

  Step 5: When you get to Colinton, look for Robert Louis Stevenson river walk signs, and stick to the River Walk until you get back to Slateford
