• Step 1: Bring a picnic if you can and be prepared to park in the overspill car park if you come during the holidays or there’s an event on. Check their website for details. Please note this is a paid-for attraction unless you’re a member.

  Step 2: The garden is surrounded by colourful Rhododendrons, brought over from China to the UK in the Victorian era. Soak up the views of the house.

  Step 3: We wandered around before heading in to tour this rather grand Summer Home. Oh how the other half lived!

• 

  Step 4: If you need the loo there’s one right here. It took us a while to find it so this might help.

• 

  Step 5: We won’t give too much away with too many pics! The tour follows one guided path.

• 

  Step 6: This is one of our fave rooms.
