• Step 1: No matter what the weather, the canal towpaths offer a fantastic way to explore Manchester and the surrounding areas. This walk takes you up the Ashton Canal from the Etihad Stadium.

• Step 2: It is a walk that takes you by old mill buildings, lush green parks & interesting houses. It ends at the Portland Basin Museum (a museum about the waterways) which also has a cafe for walking fuel!

• 

  Step 3: Looking back along the canal you’ll see the domed top of the Etihad Stadium, which is the home of Manchester City.
