Step 2: Start at the West Gate entrance of the Royal Botanic Gardens. The Gardens are free to enter, the glasshouses cost approximately £7.
Step 3: There’s a bathroom, restaurant and shop here. Exit to the gardens when you’re ready and bear left immediately. There are lots of plants on your right.
Step 4: In Spring, notice these small white and blueish flowers, a part of the Periwinkle family. Their flower buds untwist as they open.
Step 5: A champion tree is identified by a blue label and named so because of its girth! On your left, Abies Forrestii is in the pine family.
Step 6: Keep to the path as it begins to bear left. Notice the plaques near the flora and fauna have different colours?
