Step 1: There are numerous buildings around the city that are fantastic examples of Modernism/Art Nouveau , the architectural style that was popular in the late 19th and early 20th century.
Step 2: Start at the Mercado Central (Central Market) and don’t forget to look up to see the light flooding through the ceiling dome.
Step 3: The town hall, just off Plaza del Ayuntamiento, is worth a look.
Step 4: The ceiling art and chandeliers are very grand. It’s free to go in and you can browse the various 3D models of the city’s buildings.
Step 5: Cross the plaza towards the Post Office and browse the various flower stalls that fringe the square.
Step 6: Inside the post office don’t miss the beautiful leaded glass dome. Oh and don’t forget to take a ticket if you want to buy some stamps!
