• 

  Step 1: Start at the car park at the bottom of Millheugh Brae beside the roundabout

• 

  Step 2: Admire the view from the carpark but don't take the path towards the river. Instead go out to the road, turn right and walk uphill

• 

  Step 3: Pass the Applebank pub, reputedly haunted by the ghost of the Black Lady. You need to walk on road for a few hundred metres.

• 

  Step 4: You will see the entrance to Morgan Glen but today we'll pass by the entrance and head right, over the Millheugh Bridge.

• 

  Step 5: Nice view from the bridge. The weir has a built-in salmon ladder to allow the fish to pass upstream to spawn

• 

  Step 6: At the end of the bridge take the track off to your right signposted Chatelherault Country Park
