Step 1: This walk starts at the bus stop on Christina Terrace, Hotwells. A number of buses to North Somerset and from the city centre stop here. For up to date bus information go to https:/travelwest.info
Step 2: Walk towards Holy Trinity church. Turn left, when outside facing the church, and walk along Hotwell Rd
Step 3: As you reach the bend in Hotwell Rd on your right is the first of our squares, Dowry Square. This square has some strange associations.
Step 4: Here Dr Thomas Beddoes ran his clinic attempting to cure consumption by introducing cows into the patients bedrooms.
Step 5: Apparently Dr. Beddoes & his assistant Humphrey Davy did much for the gaiety of nations by producing nitrous oxide, popular amongst the intelligentsia as a recreational drug. Another assistant, Peter Roget, compiled the Thesaurus.
Step 6: Once you have walked around the square return to your start and make your way up Hope Chapel Hill
