Step 1: This walk is curated in partnership with Essex County Council and Castle Point Borough Council.
Step 2: This walk contains steps, uneven and potentially slippery surfaces so please do take care and walk on the landward side of the seawall if more suited to you. Remember to check the tide times in advance of your walk too.
Step 3: From Benfleet station, take the 21 or 21c bus to Morrisons supermarket. Carefully cross the large roundabout and head straight over onto Northwick Road. A short walk will find you at the entrance to Canvey Wick.
Step 4: Alternatively you can park at Canvey Wick nature reserve and follow the path to the entrance and you’ll find yourself here.
Step 5: Take a left and enjoy the peace and quiet of the SSSI. The site is important for rare and endangered invertebrates. 🐝
Step 6: We didn’t see another human while here. It was so quiet and peaceful. Head slightly right onto the Orchard Trail.
