  Step 1: The walk begins at Benfleet Station. It’s easy to get here by bus and train. There’s ample car and cycle parking nearby, too.

• 

  Step 2: We’ll spend the first half of our walk along salt marshes. The Thames Estuary is one of the most important sites for water birds globally.

• 

  Step 3: Follow the sign to Two Tree Island. The acorn symbolises the England Coast Path. It will stretch 4,500km around the country when complete!

• 

  Step 4: Pass through the gate and follow the road through the boatyard. Hot tip! Don’t miss the ‘read more’ panels at the bottom for extra info.

• 

  Step 5: Keep and eye out for the unique boat names as you walk along the water.

• 

  Step 6: Continue straight through the gate.
