  Step 1: From Abbey Lane, head into “Wood Two” (on the right hand side as you look up the hill). Follow the trail.

• 

  Step 2: There are lots of acorns from the oak trees on the ground in October. Acorns are not produced until a tree is at least 40 years old.

• Step 3: Most acorns will never get the chance to germinate, as they are a rich food source, eaten by many wild creatures including jays, mice, badgers and of course squirrels.

• 

  Step 4: Cross Whirlowdale Road and head into “Wood one”.

  Step 5: Just follow the signposted path.
