Views and Coal Canal Relics

Walk preview

1. 

   Step 1: This walk starts on Midford Hill opposite the Hope & Anchor pub, by the Two Tunnels Greenway. Go down the steps onto the footpath.

2. 

   Step 2: Go under the old railway bridge which now holds the greenway. Then through a gate under the trees.

3. 

   Step 3: This will bring you out to a narrow path on what was the towpath of the old Somerset Coal Canal. Ahead left is the old Midford Aqueduct.

4. 

   Step 4: At the first small fork, head right to go down into the old canal basin and up the other side.

5. 

   Step 5: Continue ahead into the trees.

6. 

   Step 6: Head over the stile and turn left onto the quiet lane.
