  • Step 1: Park in Ticknall near the Wheel Pub. This is a great place for a drink and meal after your walk. Walk on same side as Wheel away from the village. (User reports in Apr 25 suggest this pub is now closed)

  • After about 50 metres you will see this path. Turn right to walk between the houses and then enter field at top of path

  • A note of caution. Occasionally there are cattle in this field. If concerned then you can enter and leave Calke via the main entrance

  • Follow the path through the field to this gate. Go through the gate and immediately turn left. There will be a pond on your right.
