Step 1: Please enjoy the outdoors sensibly. Stay local to your home, check in advance for any park closures and keep at least 2 metre distance from others. Stay safe.
Step 2: Start this short stroll loop at the Saxon-era church, St Mary le Wigford. Turn left onto the High Street, towards the railway crossing.
Step 3: Notice the old ‘Conduit’, a water fountain on the left-hand side by the railway crossing. It served as a water tank from 1540 to 1906.
Step 4: Apparently this and other Lincoln conduits were far more trusted as a water supply, compared to the mains water, during a local typhoid outbreak between 1904-1905.
Step 5: You can see the newly installed bridge on your right. Make your way over the crossing.
Step 6: The Treaty of Commerce is a Tudor-style Public house with an excellent secluded beer garden at the back. Families & dogs are welcomed.
