  Step 1: Stanrigg Mining Memorial Walk, Plains, North Lanarkshire.

• Step 2: Stanrigg Mining Monument lies approximately 1km north of Plains and 2.5 km south-east of the villages of Greengairs and Wattson. The monument is approximately 100m from the disaster site.

• 

  Step 3: Start at Plain Community Centre & head on down past the Community Garden.

• 

  Step 4: Ignore McLelland Drive on the left.

• 

  Step 5: Turn left at Learigg Road which carries onto Arbuckle Road, take care as no pavement at the beginning.

• 

  Step 6: Carry on up Arbuckle Road keeping Stanrigg Park on the left. Pop into here and check out the boulders on your way back down.
