Step 1: This walk starts at St Peter & St Paul Church.
Step 2: In terms of transportation options for Mersea, the area does not have its own train station. The closest train stations are Wivenhoe & the Colchester train stations. From a Colchester you can catch a bus to Mersea.
Step 3: It is believed that the first church on this site was built on Roman foundation in the late 7th or early 8th century.
Step 4: You need to walk along Coast Road towards the sea.
Step 5: You’ll pass Yew Tree House on your right. It was built in 1728, was the site of a Roman dwelling & layer was a Saxon Benedictine Priory.
