• Step 1: We start at the church on the edge of Ealing Golf Course. Arrive via Perivale Tube over the A40 or by bus. We travelled from Ealing Broadway on the 297 exiting at Perivale Lane stop. Walk to the lights and cross to Perivale Lane.

• 

  Step 2: Walk along Perivale Lane. It is a quiet residential road with pavements on the left only. Pass Hanwell football club on the left.

  Step 3: On the right is this church gate. Cross the road to enter the passageway.

• 

  Step 4: This is the ancient church of St Mary. Now an arts centre as it was cut off from its parish by the construction of the A40 in the 1970s.

  Step 5: Shortly after the church there is a bridge with views of the golf course either side.

• 

  Step 6: At the junction take the right turn to follow the river. There are fences either side.
