• 

  Step 1: From the Littleton Road entrance to the Wetlands, walk past the barrier and follow the path that curves slightly downhill to the left.

• 

  Step 2: Continue on the wide paved track, which is a little worn in places but generally smooth and level.

• 

  Step 3: Walk ahead over the line of sandstone paving and the green fingerpost. The surface is level but a little sandy.

• 

  Step 4: Continue past the attractively painted flood storage building and remain on the higher level path ahead with its sandy surface.

• 

  Step 5: At the end of the sandy section, there are lovely views over the Salford Wetlands site on a meander of the River Irwell.

• 

  Step 6: Proceed ahead down the paved but initially somewhat steep slope.
