• Step 3: Start your walk on Bayswater Rd, outside the Russian Consulate. Take a look at the moss on top of the wall.

  Step 4: On the roofs above our heads, on garden walls, and in cracks in the pavement; mosses are growing all around us.

  Step 5: Moss was the first plant on earth and dates back 450 million years. It has survived and thrived through a range of drastic climate changes.

• Step 6: On the very same wall you will also see a some webs. Spiders are specialist designers. Whilst you may assume that a spiders web is functional, some actually decorate their webs with additional silk adornments called stabilimenta.
