  Step 1: Welcome to this self-led walking route around Holland Park! It aims to provide an insight on how RBKC is mitigating climate change.

• 

  Step 2: Climate change makes weather conditions more extreme: hotter & drier, and rainier & wetter. Parks help to reduce these impacts.

• 

  Step 3: Begin at the Tortoises with Triangle and Time sundial. Sundials can be used more often as London becomes sunnier. Add an hour for BST.

• 

  Step 4: Bunds are low stone walls that manage rainwater by slowing it down & guiding it into the woodland to reduce flooding and maintain habitats.

• 

  Step 5: A mix of native trees and plants provide food and shelter for wildlife. Fallen branches, dead hedges, and bird boxes are maintained here.

• 

  Step 6: Similarly, these logs provide shelter for insects and small mammals. Greater species diversity improves resilience to climate change.
