Step 1: Starting at the car park in Robert Street walk up the hill towards the Main Street.
Step 2: Facing you is Queen Street Methodist Church. A simple Victorian Gothic front building dating from 1839.
Step 3: Once you have seen the church, take right towards the town centre and ‘The Big Church’.
Step 4: Formerly called Bengal Place, these 3 storey houses were built by the Cuppage family in c1830. Only the ground floor frontage exists today.
Step 5: Lurgan’s first Presbyterian church was built on these grounds in 1714. High St. Methodist church, opened in 1826, was renovated in 1910.
Step 6: The Mechanics Institute opened in 1858 costing £1,400. Originally it had a good library and rooms for evening classes.
