Step 1: The walk starts and finishes at the picnic site beside Pont Briwet, the bridge over the Afon Dyrwyd
Step 2: There is a roadside lay-by beside here, for car parking. Alternatively, Llandecwyn Station is just a few hundred yards away from the bridge
Step 3: There is also a small area for car parking beside the entrance to the Gwaith Powdwr nature reserve
Step 4: There is an information board beside the reserve entrance. It explains the site’s prior history as an explosives factory, 1865 to 1995
Step 5: The majority of the site has tracks that are useable by pushchairs and wheelchairs. Please contact North Wales Wildlife Trust HQ for the gate code in advance.
Step 6: Disabled visitors are also able to get their vehicles on to the site with prior arrangement. Upland tracks, however, are rough, steep and contain steps.
