  Step 1: Welcome to section 1 of the Green Chain Walk. This walk begins at Thamesmead and ends at Lesnes Abbey.

• Step 2: If you’re using public transport to get to the start of this walk, there is a bus stop at Nickelby Close, Crossways. Routes 229, 177, 401 or 472 from Abbey Wood station towards Thamesmead.

• 

  Step 3: From the Nickelby Close bus stop on Crossway, head towards Manorway green space.

• 

  Step 4: Turn left along the path.

• 

  Step 5: Then turn right to cross the Crossway Lake canal footbridge and enter Fieldfare Road.

• 

  Step 6: Cross the end of Fieldfare Road and pass between numbers 70 and 71 to the green.
