• 

  Step 1: Begin your walk at Strines railway station on the Manchester-Sheffield line. Buses to and from Stockport run from Strines Road nearby.

• 

  Step 2: Leave the platform served by trains from Manchester via the gate and head right, towards the restricted byway.

• 

  Step 3: Turn right again to begin your journey up the restricted byway. Be careful as cyclists also use this route. The path is cobbled and uneven.

• 

  Step 4: Follow the path uphill. Through the trees, you can enjoy gorgeous views of the Goyt Valley to your right.

• Step 5: Follow the path as it bends left.

• 

  Step 6: At the end of the path, turn left onto Brook Bottom Road to go through the pretty hamlet of Brookbottom.
