• 

  Step 1: This stage starts from Stretford Metrolink station, served by trams from Altrincham and Manchester and, nearby by buses from elsewhere.

• 

  Step 2: From either platform, climb the steps or ramp and head towards the main road, Edge Lane (A5145).

• 

  Step 3: Turn right along the pavement of Edge Lane and cross the car park access road via dropped kerbs. Head over the canal.

• 

  Step 4: Once you’re over the bridge, cross Edge Lane via two push-button crossings with tactile paving.

• 

  Step 5: Turn right towards the signposted Bridgewater Way.

• 

  Step 6: At the end of the railings, turn sharp left down the paved ramp towards the canal.
