• 

  Step 1: This walk starts at Sale Water Park Metrolink stop, served by trams from Manchester and elsewhere.

• Step 2: Please note that parts of this walk may be damp, muddy and slippery at any time of year and especially after periods of wet weather. Please bear this in mind when planning your trip.

• Step 3: Leave the platforms from the eastern end, so that Rifle Road is to your left.

• 

  Step 4: Cross Rifle Road via the tactile paving. Turn left on the other side then follow the pavement round to the right.

• 

  Step 5: When the pavement ends by the metal barrier, turn right to follow the gravel path through the wooded area.

• Step 6: The path curves left in parallel with the road.
