• 

  Step 1: Start the walk from Leigh bus station, served by express buses from Manchester and direct services from Wigan, Bolton and elsewhere.

• Step 2: Please note that parts of this walk may be damp, muddy and slippery at any time of year and especially after periods of wet weather. Please bear this in mind when planning your trip.

• 

  Step 3: Exit the station past the Travelshop and payable public toilets. Cafes and shops are also close by.

• 

  Step 4: By the cycle hub, turn left to exit the bus station via four zebra crossings.

• 

  Step 5: Turn left along the pavement of King Street (B5125), passing a large pub to your left.

• 

  Step 6: At the major junction, continue in the same direction to cross Spinning Jenny Way (A572) via three push-button crossings.
