   Step 2: This walk covers the medieval history of the site surrounding DMU’s Campus, with thanks to DMU’s Heritage Centre. Photos courtesy of Redpix.

   Step 3: The walk begins at Castle Motte, the mound is all that remains of original Norman Castle constructed on the orders of William the Conqueror.

4. Step 4: From Castle Motte, bear right through Castle Gardens towards Castle Street.

5. 

   Step 5: As you pass through Castle Gardens you will pass the rear of the Castle Great Hall on the right.

6. Step 6: Continue bearing right through Castle Gardens.
