Step 1: Your walk starts here at Tesco. The store has a bus stop served by routes to Witham (90), Southminster (D2), Chelmsford (73), Colchester (75), Bradwell-on-sea (D1), Langford (288), Tollesbury (95) and Maldon (75/90/288).
Step 2: Head through the gap in the hedge from the supermarket car park to reach the River Blackwater. It is roughly half way along the car park.
Step 3: Turn left and start walking alongside the river to enjoy the immediate lush views! It can get very muddy here if it’s been raining.
Step 4: You’ll soon forget you were in a car park - it’s so peaceful here. The path is not paved here but would be ok for buggies with proper tyres.
Step 5: Head under the road bridge ahead and keep to the riverside path.
Step 6: As you leave the sound of the A road behind, the birdsong soon overtakes the skies and trees around. What can you spot?
