  Step 1: Start at the Wellspring Settlement on Beam Street. The nearest bus stop is ‘Beam Street’ on Avondale Road. There are toilets here.

• 

  Step 2: With your back to the Wellspring centre entrance, head down Beam Street, passing Bristol Future Academy on the left.

• 

  Step 3: Turn right into Avondale Road, passing the bus stop, a convenience store and a takeaway restaurant.

• 

  Step 4: St Luke’s Church will soon come into view after a row of housing. The foundation stone was laid in 1842 on young Queen Victoria's birthday.

• 

  Step 5: Much of the funds to build the Grade II listed church came from the Great Western Cotton Factory which was a few roads south of here.

• 

  Step 6: Turn left to cross Avondale Road at the zebra crossing by the church.
