  Step 1: This walk starts close to the Swallerton Gate bus stop for route 271. There is a free car park here postcode TQ13 9XG.

• 

  Step 2: Cross the road and head up to the tor on the wide grass. Bear left at the first fork on the wide grass path. Dogs should be on short leads.

• 

  Step 3: Look out for wild ponies!

• 

  Step 4: Keep your distance and don't feed or stroke them.

• 

  Step 5: Explore Hound Tor as you please. We headed between the large rocks to check out the view on the other side.

• 

  Step 6: You'll likely slow down a lot here if you have kids with you as they climb and jump across the rocks.
