• Step 1: This is an English Heritage site which is open daily 10am - 4pm. The address is Haydon Bridge, Hexham, Northumberland, NE47 6NN and there is car parking onsite.

• 

  Step 2: There’s a small fee to visit the castle ruin grounds, the rest is free. Find the archway at the building and head underneath it.

• 

  Step 3: Follow the path towards the wooden gate and head on in. There’s likely to be sheep grazing in this field so dogs on a lead.

• 

  Step 4: Follow the rough track downhill.

• 

  Step 5: Keep to the path as it winds through the fields.

• 

  Step 6: Can you see the ruins from here? Keep going.
