  Step 1: Welcome to the Weston Woods walk. Start by crossing the stile off Weston Lane and head across the field to approach the wood.

• 

  Step 2: Walk or skip through the gap in the hedge. Look out for red kites above.

• 

  Step 3: Pass the big beautiful old ash tree on your right.

• 

  Step 4: On your left look out for the dead tree that is fantastic habitat for invertebrates and look out for fungi through the winter.

• 

  Step 5: Cross the stile into the wood. The collapsed wall to the left is a great hideout for small mammals and overwintering amphibians.

• 

  Step 6: Turn left at the crossroads to follow the path. The ground flower is immediately interesting with lots of wild garlic.
